With China’s repeated efforts to restrict free speech, including jailing journalists, the U.S. government has gone one step further, declaring a full diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Olympics games in 2022. At a military base in the UK, our Ambassador to China Terry Branstad said, “The United States, Canada and Britain are taking a unified position of no Olympics activities in China because of freedom of speech and religious freedom concerns.” This boycotting all activities including sports competitions.
