We have been bringing you the latest news and videos from Mississippi and Alabama after a record eight twisters moved through on Sunday.
One twister touched down in Mobile, Alabama, leaving debris around homes and businesses; several took out sections of highway in the same area. It was the worst weather Alabama has seen in decades.
Twisters also hit the surrounding state of Mississippi, which has an average eight tornadoes a year.
The Storm Prediction Center issued tornado watches for the entire state.
At least 10 people were killed in the states, while many more suffered minor injuries.
By mid-afternoon on Monday, mobile homes and construction buildings were being cleared away as emergency workers and volunteers go house to house in search of possible survivors and victims.
“We have opened a post office box to collect donations of non-perishable food, water, and hygiene items,” the Mobile County Health Department said on its Facebook page.
