After Kanye West apologized for making anti-Semitic comments that had been reported on the internet, Kim Kardashian has come to the defence of the rapper’s Jewish family.
In an Instagram post yesterday, the star showed her support for the rapper, writing: “To all of you who have stood with us through the years and know that this is no act of love, I know you didn’t make this decision lightly, and I’m so sorry.”
Kardashian then included photos of herself with West in the past, writing that she is “so happy” that he decided to “make a change” and she feels like she “can breathe.”
Kardashian was last year accused of making anti-Semitic remarks towards Jewish people in a video that she made with her sister and their children.
She told the US magazine GQ that she did it “by mistake!” explaining: “I didn’t know that Jews were a protected class, and I just took video of myself on stage and it kind of just hit me in my heart and I just let it all go.”
Kardashian, 32, also said she didn’t expect to be attacked, and that her family was “just so grateful” to have been in the media spotlight.
“I get so many tweets and comments — ‘Kim Kardashian is so anti-Semitic, just look at her.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve never heard of anyone being accused of being anti-Semitic like this.’”
As recently as last month, she was seen at a party with West on July 23, as he is known to frequent New York City’s nightlife — which he calls “art deco” — and she is often photographed with him in his studio, where his paintings are displayed.
The rapper, from Atlanta, was
